Rooftop Padel Club in Berlin
At Dominowa we love sports, specially Padel, a popular racquet sport. That's why we chose to collaborate on this project.
Padel is a relatively new and trendy sport that originated in Mexico and has quickly gained popularity worldwide, particularly in Europe. It is a fast-paced and dynamic game that combines elements of tennis and squash, played on a smaller court enclosed by glass walls.
The demand for Padel is growing at an unprecedented rate, with many enthusiasts embracing it as their new favorite sport. Its popularity can be attributed to the fact that it is a very social game that can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, Padel is relatively easy to learn, making it a great option for beginners.
In recent years, the demand for Padel in Berlin has seen a significant increase. However, given the vast size of the city, finding the right location for a Padel facility has been a challenge. To address this issue, we put all together to work, creating a smart and innovative plan that allows for the placement of the facility in a unique and central location.
By carefully considering the city's layout and the needs of Padel enthusiasts, we created a design that maximizes accessibility and convenience for players. This includes not only the location of the facility, but also the layout of the courts themselves, ensuring that they are easy to navigate and provide an excellent playing experience.
Geographical Location
During our research, we identified an ideal location that meets several criteria. Firstly, it boasts excellent connectivity to public transport, which is easily accessible from all directions in Berlin. Additionally, it is situated in close proximity to two affluent neighborhoods, Kreuzberg and Prenzlauerberg, while still being in close proximity to major office areas such as Warschaer Str, Alexander Platz, and Ostkreuz.
One of the standout features of this location is the ample parking available for those who prefer not to use public transport. Furthermore, the area is dotted with excellent food options, with many great restaurants just one stop away towards Warschauer Str. Notably, the location also offers a direct connection to the airport.
Depending on the elevation, there is even a possibility of glimpsing the river, making this location the ultimate choice that ticks all the boxes for the perfect site.

REPURPOSING a building
One of the greatest parts of this project is that we are repurposing an existing facility with an ideal location and immense potential, instead of constructing something entirely new.
Additionally, this approach is not unheard of, as a nearby building has already transformed its rooftop into a football pitch. As a result, we are converting an unused rooftop into one of the most remarkable Padel clubs in Germany.
